in Edinburgh's Historic Old Town approximately half way between Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace, while Waverley Train Station,
airport bus stances and Princes Street - with its many shops and extensive gardens, are just over five minutes away.
Half a mile down the Royal Mile is the new Scottish Parliament & Dynamic Earth with Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags beyond, from which

The apartment is well equipped, a recent addition to the facilities being wireless internet access for which there is no charge. For those interested
in researching their Scottish roots, we can now offer assistance as Janet successfully completed Visit Scotland's Ancestral Tourism course. She is happy
to give advice and information regarding family history research. New Register House, the Scottish Genealogy Society Library & Family History Centre, National
Library and Central Library are all within walking distance of the apartment,
The Apartment:


The light and airy sitting room shown right has a classic marble mantlepiece and Morso 'living flame' gas stove giving the room an attractive focal point and extra warmth, the central heating radiator providing background heat. Facilities include television set with
Freeview digital receiver, VCR, DVD player, music centre and
payphone. There are two sofas in the room one of which easily
converts into a larger than double sized & very comfortable bed.
The bedroom (left) contains a large pine wardrobe, a pretty pine
dressing chest and roomy bedside chests providing plenty of storage.
The bedroom is shown with twin beds, but these can be joined to form one extra king size double. Please let us know your preference.


The photograph on the left shows the smart, well lit bathroom which has bath, shower and basin with light and shaver point.
Good quality bath & hand towels plus bath mat are supplied.
The photograph on the right, shows a corner of the bright, well organised,well equipped kitchen, which has fridge/freezer, washer/drier, dish-washer, full size gas hob and fan assisted electric oven and a multifunction microwave. An iron and ironing board as well as all crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and linen are supplied.

General Information/Facilities.
Wireless Internet Access is available in the flat
The flat has both payphone and entryphone system. Heating is by gas central heating,
with the added comfort of a 'living flame' Morso gas stove in the sitting room.
Rates include all linens, towels & tax as well as a generous allowance of gas & electricity.
Access to the flat is by a shared well lit stairway, there is no elevator to the flat.
Please note: Apartment by Royal Mile is strictly No Smoking
Regret: The apartment is unsuitable for pets.
For your safety all gas appliances are inspected annually by a Corgi registered plumber and
a Landlord's Gas Safety Certificate is held.

Car Parking
The apartment is ideally situated within walking distance of many places of interest and within short journeys by public transport
to others. For those wishing to bring a car, parking in St. Mary's Street is available from18.30 in the evening until 8.00 in the morning
weekdays and all day Sunday. There are four metred bays opposite the apartment where cars may be parked for up to two hours.
The nearest car park is St. John's, only five minutes walk from the apartment. Daily ticket - £9.50
Shopping
Small/Corner Shops: The nearest shop for essential basics such as bread & milk is across the road from the apartment.
There are two slightly larger shops within two minutes' walk of the apartment, one of these having long trading hours.
Supermarkets/Foodhalls:There are three metro type supermarkets within ten minutes walk of the apartment, as are Marks &
Spencer & Jenners Food Halls. There is a Sainsburys supermarket within easy reach by bus. It is also possible to place
advance internet grocery orders with Tesco, Waitrose, Asda or Sainsburys for delivery to the apartment.
Nearet Post Office: St. Mary's Street. Nearest Foreign Exchange: Royal Bank of Scotland, North Bridge (3 minutes)
Nearest Pharmacy:Royal Mile/High Street (2 minutes)
Other Shopping: The apartment is five minutes or so away from Princes Street, Princes Mall & St.James Shopping Centre/John Lewis.
Specialist food shops stocking local produce include I J Mellis Cheesemonger at 32 Victoria Street, A Crombie & Son Butcher and Real
Foods Whole Food shop, both in Broughton street, Peckam's Deli at 49 South Clerk Street (open 8.00 a.m. till midnight). Also within
walking distance is Valvona and Croalla's famous deli and cafes.
Public Transport
There is public transport available on St. Mary's Street, nearby Cannongate & North Bridge. For other destinations
there are buses from George IV Bridge (5minutes), Princes Street (5minutes) and Waverley Bridge (5minutes).
Waverley Train Station is five minutes walk from the apartment as are the Airport Bus Stances, Edinburgh Airport
being approximately six miles from the city centre.
